In so many ways, pots are like people.  Some folks look terrific in certain colors that other folks just shouldn’t wear.  What’s underneath really does matter.  This pot is a classic example of that concept.  If you have seen the Honey Celadon glaze on some of my other work, you may have noticed how it highlights every detail, and breaks to a light honey yellow on the high spots.  Believe it or don’t, but this is the same glaze – but, on a different clay!  This clay has a bit more iron in it and is generally darker in color.  So, instead of getting those light honey color highlights, we get those rich iron reds that you see here.  Pretty cool, isn’t it!  Approximately six inches tall.
